Hi Can anybody help ? Ive just bought a 2011 boxster 03/02/17 and the check oil light has come on twice, Once on sat and once today 8th on both times i have stopped and checked the oil with the onboard computer and each time it says the oil level is fine and the light goes out, it had a oil change and service before i picked it up, Has anyone else had this happen to them ? it is going back to the dealer i bought it off tomorrow to be put on the computer to see if they can tell why the light keeps coming on.
Any help would be great.

If you collected it on 3rd Feb, I'd suggest it's a Dealer issue that need resolving quickly so you don't lose any consumer rights. I'd keep a record of events just in case. Did you get car from an Official Porsche Centre or elsewhere? Presumably you've got a warranty, not sure what the minimum requirement is, 6mth?

It going in tomorrow to be checked out, i got it from a non porsche car dealer it has 3 months warranty, hopefully it will be ok

Had a similar problem on my 981S - eventually found to be too much oil rather than too little - Porsche Cambridge (who supplied it) confirmed that the onboard system is better at diagnosing low oil rather than too much.

I also had the same problem and it was caused by to much oil being added after a service, once they drain some oil off the problem went away.
