Checking tyre pressures

Can I ask the group how you check type pressures on track days. Do you bring your own device or use track facilities?

Regards

Jan

Hi Mark,

Do you use the gauge just to check and then deflate by guessing or do you use a specific device for releasing/increasing the pressure?

Regards

Jan

The guage has a button to press to release the pressure - so you can look at the dial and press the button gradually to get down to the required pressure.

I have a small electric pump to get the (cold) pressure back up again at the end of the day.

Thanks Mark,
can you recommend a specific electric pump and did you also get this from Demon Tweeks?

Regards

Jan

Mark, it seems you have done this a few times. Are there any essential tools/devices you recommend bringing to track days?

Many thanks for the advice already!

Jan,

Sorry I took a while to see this... But I see you have posted another thread which has generated a lot of good replies.

I got the Pressure Guage from Demon Tweeks.
The pump is just a Draper one from Les Smith Accessory shops - quite small, but seems to be powerful enough.

I am fairly new to the track day lark myself, so I just take the above, plus a torque wrench for the wheel nuts, zymol glass cleaner in a little spray bottle, and a litre of oil in case I need to top up (not needed so far!).
