child seat?? (again!!)

Tom, give Stuart a call at Quickfit SBS in Stanmore. Nice guy, happy to chat and advise. 0208 206 0101

David.

Thanks MrHappy - you've come to my aid again! :)

Spoke to SBS - they do seem pretty good there, suggesting the recaro young sport along with the usual (old) suspects.

Also spoke to a chap at babyworld, who also suggested the Kiddy Comfort Pro

Will be visiting them in a couple of weeks - so will update here with the results.

In case anyone is after a suggestion - Kiddy Infinity Pro - fits nicely in a targa although I'll need to get the belt legthened a bit. Mine came from Babyworld too.

I just bought a used Klippan car seat on eBay that seems to be identical to the M&P Sicuro (I can't see any difference). I was told Klippan made them for M&P originally, which would explain it, although I can;t vouch for this.

In any case, it fits into the space perfectly, although my seat belt is too short so needs extending. Sorry, don't know the Klippan model name, but I assume that like the Sicuro it's been discontinued for some time. Certainly another option if you can find one.

Cheers/John

Look at reviews.. The Sicuro/M&P got chronic reviews.
I use the Recaro. Good side protection for the head and neck.
Had to modify the seatbelt a bit though.

Just had mine done - take it off (10 mins) and post to quickfit SBS in Middlesex - £50ish, back within the week and now about 2 feet longer.....

In response to CV Read - who did you speak to at SBS? I just called there as I need to get this done, and they told me that I needed a kit , which is £50, plus about £110 for fitting. Very good advice on the phone and they do seem to know what they're talking about, but I'd be interested in a cheaper alternative!

Cheers/John

John - I spoke to Pablo all the way through. Assuming your car already has 3 point belts it should be as simple as mine.... just posted the inertia reel.
hope that helps
Charlie

I removed my belt entirely and swapped it for a fixed item without inertia reel to minimise any slack in the belt. This allows you to really pull the seat tight.

Charlie,

Thanks - I spoke to Pavel and he said that lengthening the reel was one way of doing it, but replacing it with a fixed item (as above) was more secure. More expensive as well!

Cheers/John
