Child Seat Anchor Points

I recently exported my car to Australia. As part of their import roadworthy checklist, the car has to have 2 structural anchor points and bolts for attaching a child seat restraining strap to the car structure. Does any one know where these points are? Were they fitted on UK cars and how do you access them?

Many Thanks

Hi Nigel,

I don't know if UK cars were fitted with them. However, the best place to look is under the rear parcel shelf around the area where the speakers are mounted. You may find a threaded hole or weld nuts under the trim.

Sorry can't be more helpful. Perhaps try an Australian Porsche forum.

Hi Nigel, well worth giving Stuart a call at Quickfit safety belt service in Stanmore. 020 8206 0101 [:)]

is this like the ISOfix system in modern cars? Out lass' Megane has a couple of small hoops welded to the rear bulkhead at the point where the seat back meets the seat bottom. Our child seat has an ISOfix base which clips onto these hoops. No need for messing around with seatbelts etc... this could be what they want to see?
Sorry, just read your post again and you mention a restraining strap... looks like Pickled Piper has the best guess
