CHILD SEAT IN REAR OF A CABRIOLET

Hi all

I am sure that this has been raised but I cant remember the outcome.

Its come to the time of year where events are starting to be organised and I want to be there, however I cannot get my wife and two year old in the car together. Therefore I either end up on my own or more oftern than not, not going at all.

Has anyone, or does anyone know if there is a way of fitting a child seat in the rear of a cabriolet which only has lap belts? And which car seat do I buy?

regards Lee

Hi Lee,
What you want is a Porsche Prince seat, made by Römer in Germany (come up often on EvilBay).
This has a pad that takes the lap belt and goes across the stomach/chest area.
It also seems quite comfortable to sleep on.......
I did also manage to get a big maxicosi car seat strapped in the back of a cabrio, but this reduces leg room in the front (manageable though).
I'll try and dig out some pics, but you can email me at jon@kent.lu for more details.
From about 3 years on, the Maxicosi Rodi SPS is the one (previously just Rodi - not the XP!), as it's quite a small base and thin backrest.
My 3.5yr old is in one now.
Best Rs,
Jon
