Child Seat

Hi everyone

I'm a new 996 2000 Carrera 4 owner but had Boxster since 2006. Love it! its now my daily driver with my Boxster for weekends. I've been checking previous posts but cant find a real up to date conversation. Can anyone tell me of a child seat that fits in the back for my 18 month old. Seen a few G2?? Porsche seats for sale but these are for 4 yrs old an upwards. Want to take my boy to a few Porsche events well before that. Thanks.

There may well be others, but I can say for sure that a Cybex child seat (9months-12years) fits in the back of a 996. We have had two models of Cybex (recent isofix and an older non-isofix) and they both fit fine.

They have a cool restraint system and as a result are really easy to get the belt on - and that is a big thing I'm sure you will know!

No bother. Can't speak for the others but the Cybex will fit and you can choose a colour to match too - we just got a brown one for our Cocoa metallic GLA and it just looks like part of the car. I just have one gripe about having the child seat in the back of the 996, the front seat needs to be pretty far forward to allow some leg room for the child which is fine if you have no front passenger. It's not a deal killer though by any means unless your misses is 6ft tall. We did a long journey South during the summer with the wife in the front and a (Cybex) baby seat in the back. Best to take the kids shoes off too to prevent scuffing your seat back... it is always going to be a compromise fitting baby seats and passengers in a 911 for a journey though, so the fact it can actually be done at all -can't complain!

haha shes about 5' 3" so should be ok. essentially it will be only short journeys. good tip on shoes. has recommendation that maxi cosi tobi also fits although a bit tight. need to get sorted my 18 mnth keeps stroking my car, he wants in!
