Chip or Not?

Hi,

Is it worth chipping my 964 tiptronic ? I chipped my manual 944 but it didn't make that much difference only a little more friendly under 3000rpm. Obviously being tiptronic she is friendly at low revs anyway. Any advice would be great.

I wouldn't bother with an off the shelf item. far too generic.

I would however consider Ninemiesters £500 rolling road chipping session, because its done for your car. not anyone elses

I have to agree with Kevin but I managed in a moment of madness to get an Accell Racing Chip from ebay for a steal and fitted it myself and got the fuelling checked on a local rolling road.

I did not fit it until getting positive feedback from a few other buyers - they said (and I concur) that the low rev running if far smoother, that there is a general (if not immediately noticeable) increase in power along with a raise in rev range it makes the driving experience a little more fun.

Anyway, if you wish to invest in performance, go for a remapable chip that can be mapped to reflect future mods (and get the best our of them).

You pays your money and makes your choice (or so they say).

If I were you and I had one available at a reasonable price I would fit one but not if I was considering serious modification.
