"Chipsaway"

Hi folks! My 4-year old Boxster S is starting to look a bit "gnarled" (too many trips to Tescos perhaps!). Isn't it amazing how people just have no regard for other people's property these days? Anyway my pride and joy has sustained a few dings here and there. Our local OPC wants £700+ to sort them, which seems ridiculous to me! I'm not intending to sell my car, I just want to give her a "tidy-up".
Is our local "Chipsaway" franchisee worth hiring? (Cambridge area).
We're talking minor damage to "Arctic Silver".
Would be grateful for any advice.
After four+years of ownership I still have a smile on my face every time I drive!
One of these days I shall actually turn-up at an R24 meet.

Dave - Never used them myself as I have a guy I know who I use for bodywork.

However, I spoke to the local Chipsaway chap recently before embarking on some cosmetic work, he shied away from doing mine. I think they would be okay for paintless dents (car door opening type of thing), but he did say that for actual chips they don't fill anything as such, their airbrush application masks things and tidies things up so the chips are not so noticeable from a distance.

I know a couple of people in R24 have used their local franchise, maybe its best to have a look at what their results look like. Depends what level of finish you're looking for I guess.

David, you could always ask ChipsAway themselves.

Drop a note to Diver944, he's in R10 (Northants & MK) but he is Mr Chipsaway round here and could give you information as to what he/they could offer you.

Many thanks for the helpful replies (Twinny and thboxster); will follow up your suggestions.
