Choice mods?

Guest

New member
Friend of mine has a one-owner 964 C2 that he's had from new aqnd he's asked me to help him out with speccing a few choice mods on the car (its completely stock right now).

I was thinking (in no particular order) of:

suspension upgrade
strut brace
exhaust upgrade
giving him my 17" 993 Cup wheels.

Not being that knowledgable about the 964 scene (and some would say the same about me and the 993 scene too[;)] ) can anyone point me towards a couple of recommendations...

I reckon he'll get things done one at a time so that each one's advantages can be fully appreciated.

TIA

Cup pipe or G pipe would be easy cheap exhaust mods.
Teardrop mirrors are alwasy a good IMHO thing
suspension, I would lower as well as upgrade the shocks, I'm currently going to fit B6 Sport Bilsteins.
If its looks he's after why not go for cooling ducts instead of the fogs at the front, FVD and Techart IIRC also do the ducts with fogs, albeit a bit smaller
High spoiler/3rd brakelight as fitted to the 993, I have one on my 964, looks neat, and stops (potentialy) you being rear ended...
Is he interested in the inside or outside? lots of differing options for the inside, from places like Prestige parts.....

Cheers Kevin,

I think he's looking for upgrades that will freshen it up for him.
I've persuaded him to keep it rather than sell it and get something else seeing as its such a good car and he's known it from new.

What springs do you match with the Bilstein shocks?
(for instance, I have Bilstein HDs on mine, matched with M030 springs).

Also, regarding the 3rd brake light, do you mean high level as in the roof spoiler or the 'basket handle' type spoiler...

Do you know, does a C2 need to have a bracket fitted to allow the fitment of 17in wheels
(much like pre 95 993's with 18in wheels)??

cheers

re: 17inch wheels

It depends on what year the car is. If it's earlier than MY92, he'll need to either install the larger 10mm steering stops, or buy 5mm spacers for the front wheels. Apart from that, he should be fine with 17inch rims.

The suspension would be my choice & maybe a new clutch would be a good way of sprucing the car up too. It's suprising how much nicer a light clutch pedal can make driving the car!!

High level type, fits to the roof line, mine is shown in my sig......with some links to other mods I've done
Springs, I'm going for H&R getting them from Essential Styling, speak to Simon, mention me.......
Andy's right on the wheels, the stops went from 6 to 10mm on later models, if it hasn't been done the steering stops might need altering to stop wheel well rub on the front.
Might try a nice steering wheel? I did that to mine too, again details in my sig on my website.......when I do the dampers and springs I'll write that up too, eventually..
