Chris for director

Guest

New member
In the next issue of PP, you will receive a voting form for the forthcoming election for Regional Director.

Please support Chris Clark by voting for him...

It's about time we had a director in our region.

If you have any questions, please feel free to contact either myself or Chris.

I've not received my magazine Yet, does it have a paragraph with what Chris and the other persons are bringing to the table ?

Yes it does.

As the other member contesting the position I had hoped that we could avoid using the forum for election propaganda.

I have also refrained from including anything in the hundred or so entry forms for the Cotswold Rally or the Manx Tour information.

Geoff Ives.

Possibly a missed opportunity Geoff[&:]

Please bear in mind that I am trying to gee up the North West members to use their vote and it's not Chris "using the forum for election propaganda."

Both excellent candidates, sure there is room for a North and South Regional (being a geographical appointment unlike Registers) Directorships or indeed an assistant post to help the Director, we have assistants for Regions and Registers so why not for the Big Jobs? or does this make too much sense....[&:]

Not necessarily missed.
At the touch of the 'send' icon over 400 emails could go out.

It seems crazy to me that we have a situation where candidates do not state in their nomination notices what they would hope to achieve regarding the directorship they are standing for. What relevant skills and experience they have and would bring to the position. It is akin to being asked to vote for your local Member of Parliament but only being allowed to know the name of the candidate, what political persuasion they are being totally irrelevant.
We are no longer a 'small gentlemen's club' and many people won't know anything about either person and will probably not vote purely on the grounds that they have no idea about either of the candidates.
In this particular instance I know both candidates so this posting is apolitical.
Time for the rules to be changed perhaps?
The floor is now open.

Fred.
We are not allowed to give a manifesto. The rule clearly state that we can only outline our experience and qualification for the post. Believe me, there is a hell of a lot that I would like to say but so far I have stuck to both the letter and the spirit of the rules.
As you will know Fred I am also a Northener and tell it as it is and maybe it is time for me to have my threepenneth.

Geoff,
The point of my posting was the fact that the rules are crazy and you should be allowed a manifesto. I did write "Time for the rules to be changed perhaps?"
Calling me a 'Northerner' isn't very nice Geoff, may have to put my cross in another box![:)][:)]
Cheers and best of luck to both candidates.

Geoff,
In a similar vein 'Sir, you are a fine Southern gentleman.' [;)]

Cheers,

He certainly is....

Now that was a great film ....................!

But the story pales against some of the PCGB issue of late! [:D]
