I have provisionally booked twenty places for us to celebrate Christmas together, at the Sun And Stars Pub, on the 12th Jan 2008, 7:00 for 7:30, at £18.50 per head or £20 per head with coffee, plus a 10 percsnt service charge, making a total of £20.35 without, or £22 with coffee.

Here is the proposed menu
Leek and Potato Soup, or Chicken and Duck liver Pate with a goose and stem ginger chutney.

Roast Turkey and all the trimmings or Field Mushroom Stroganoff with Creamed Potatoes.

Christmas Pudding with Brandy butter or cream; Creme Brulee.

I need to confirm numbers so let me know.

Hi Clarey - Welcome to the forum and congrats on a great choice of car. Great that you've signed up for the Christmas Dinner - see you there. There are three other opportunities coming up for you - 2nd December has two runs (one around the region, the other to Cornbury House, PCGB's HQ) and on 8 December there's a region meet at OPC Reading which you might like to attend. YOu'll find lots of enthusiastic Porsche owners at each event so do join in.

Cheers, Craig

Hi Jon

Put us down for two places.

James - Soup, Turkey, Xmas Pud

Anna - Pate, Stroganoff, Creme Brulee.

Cheers

James

Hi Clare

Following on from Craig's post may I say welcome to the forum too. Where are you based?

For details of the two trips out that Craig has mentioned see other threads on this forum. I'll be on the run to club HQ (Cornbury House) on the 2nd Dec so am hoping to persuade Craig to put on a second mystery tour in 2008. [:)]

We are also meeting at the Reading OPC on 8th December, again details elsewhere on this forum.

We did a run to Beaulieu the other week too so it's a busy end to the year

On months when we aren't burning some fossil fuels just for the sake of it we meet at The Royal Berkshire Hotel in Ascot on the first Sunday of the month from 12:00. Actually this meet tends to go ahead every month regardless of whether there's a trip planned so that those who can't make the trip or don't fancy it can still meet up.

If you can't find the info just post again and someone will fill you in.

Cheers

James

Hi James/Craig

Thanks for the posts! Everyone seems so welcoming on here! [:D]

Well, I have so far decided on the PC HQ run on the 2nd December and am also planning on attending the OPC on the 8th Dec. I will be at the Royal Berkshire Hotel on the 6th Jan and again at the Christmas do on the 12th Jan! I think that should do me for the moment!! Looking forward to meeting you all! How exciting!! X

Clare please be advised that the Christmas meal will be at the Sun and Stars in Money Row Green.
Come off the M4 junction 8/9
Take A308M
Turn right at the Braywick roundabout to go back over the M4 towards Bracknell
Continue through Holyport, into the 50 mph speed limit. (Will your 911 go that slow?)
At the end of that long straight turn left, just past the school

Follw the road, S&S about 1.5 miles on the right.

Cheers, Craig

Hi John

This post has been pretty inactive for a while now ..... is this event still going ahead?

Its this saturday after all ?

It was certainly going ahead as of last Sunday when we discussed it at Ascot.

See you there!

James

Hi James

In that case we will see you there ....

Should John need menu choices (?) then we have decided on

2 x Soup
2 x Turkey
2 x Creme Brulee

Seems like Christmas all over again

Couldn't make last weeks meeting ...... had to attend a family gathering

John

Assuming your knees have permitted access to your PC I just thought I'd say thanks for an excellent Christmas dinner. Great choice of pub.

See you at Ascot next month.

James

Yes, I'll second that! ...thank you John we really enjoyed it! Thanks for your efforts in organising this event.
I'd be very happy to go to this pub again!

I hope your feeling better John!!

J.

Thanks guys. Slowly improving in the knee department. We have eaten there previously some years ago, and actually I thought the food was better than I remembered it from before. At a rough guess the place would hold thirty so lets go for it this year and fill it up. Any dates in December to avoid?
