Four members of R31 today met at The Mill House Kingham, http://www.millhousehotel.co.uk/the-restaurant.php for lunch and to recce the place to find if it is up to our standards for our Christmas lunch.

Well it exceeded them! [:D]

So we have gone for Sunday 1st Dec for lunch and have secured an excellent menu at a price that even Geoff approved off, quote 'a no brainer'. Suffice to say, the ambiance is tip top, the food great and the parking; well they promise us reserved parking on tarmac with a great backdrop for pics. They have also plenty of high quality bedrooms if anyone wants to make a weekend of it (or to sleep off a hangover)[;)]
More details later and in PP, but put 1st Dec in your diary. See their website for an overview.

See above. I'm now ready to take bookings. As we need to give the Mill House sufficient notice, I will close the bookings for Christmas lunch on 23rd November. Thus I need your £5 deposit + menu choices by not later than that date. Please don't leave it until the last minute or you will miss out on what is a very good deal. I will return your deposit to you on the day and you can then settle with the Mill House after your meal. Remember twenty quid for that menu is a gift.

Last day to book is Saturday 23th November. I need a £5 deposit, made out to Porsche Club Great Britain (it will be returned to you if you turn up!). Send to 9 The Farriers, Southrop, Lechlade, Glos, GL73RL. Make your choices from the menu is above If you want to come after that, you may get in, but you won't get free drinks & you may have to sit elsewhere!! More details: 01367850002 Derek

Derek. If you remember the price was dependant on pre booking. Anyone just turning up will also pay more.

Geoff, we did agree that, but that might pose a problem... i.e. two tier payments. So if the Mill House accept a late booking at a mere £20 a head, that is up to them. However, late bookings through me, with or without a deposit, will not get FREE DRINKS. That amounts to the same thing. By the way, I made an error (now corrected) in my last post. LAST DATE TO BOOK IS 23 NOV, So just two weeks to do that.

And just to remind ALL Club members, this lunch, indeed all regional events, are open to all Club members. You don't have to be a member of a particular region to attend their events.

ORIGINAL: geoff ives Derek. If you remember the price was dependant on pre booking. Anyone just turning up will also pay more.
Actually we are both right. On the 24th I will confirm with the Mill House numbers and menu choices for those who have booked and sent me a £5 deposit. Subsequently, late comers will be asked to contact the hotel direct. I can assure them that the hotel will charge diners considerable more than the mere £20 a head I have negotiated. That is assuming the hotel even accepts their reservation. Moreover, late comers will not get drinking vouchers! So come on guys & gals... this is a snip at £20 a head with a fee drink. You may also get to sit next to Geoff.... Actually, that might be a disincentive [:D]

I can reccomend this place. I tried it with Derek when we looked over possible venues for our Christmas Lunch. This was far and away the best we tried. The food is excellent and the surroundings stunning. [:)]

Just a polite reminder that you have just two days to get your booking to me together with your menu choices and £5 deposit. See above for details or telephone me on 01367850002

Thanks Richard. Numbers building slowly. Look forward to your list. If the weather is nice, we are all going in our Porsches for a group photo outside the hotel. 12 for 1pm

The list is now closed with over 20 members attending. If you still want to come, call the hotel direct and they may be able to fit you in. Derek

Just to remind all those who are coming to the lunch on Sunday, The Mill House Hotel in Kingham, that we arrived at 12:00 for a photoshoot then dine at 1 pm. Park right outside the front which will be reserved for us.

Thank Derek. Superb surroundings, fine food and good company. Must be the best R31 'Christmas' bash yet. Geoff & Mavis

Your welcome. Everyone has echoed your comments. We will certainly use this as a drive & dine venue. Wat's the betting they don't let us publish the silly hats pics! See you all at Cornbury House next Sunday. Derek
