Christmas Meal at Yi Ban

Chaps,

Two years ago, when I was new to 944's (and the world was slightly more moist), there was a Christmas meal at Yi Ban restaurant in Docklands. A few people came, and a few people said it was good fun (but Paul Smith had a wobbly chair and no-one felt sorry for him.)

Last year, I tried to arrange a repeat match but only Fen seemed interested as we was working in the area. In practice, I ended up inviting him to my place for supper, an invite he declined. (I can only assume that the reputation of Mrs zcacogp's cooking had reached even the depths of Devon, where he lived ... )

So, I am wondering whether it is worth having a crack at arranging something similar this year. Hence this post. I guess I can only ask ... so ... here goes ...

Who would be interested in a 944-focussed (but possibly thrown open to other bits of Pork) Christmas meal at Yi Ban in Docklands (here: http://www.yi-ban.com/home.cfm)? If you are interested, what days of the week would be good for you? School night, or weekend? November, or December? I can't make Tuesdays, on a regular basis, for instance.

If no-one answers, I shall be in no doubt as to the fact that you all hate me because I only drive a lowly S2, and not an infinitely superior Turbo.*

* - There, that should get some of you going!

Didn't we go to have a curry in Brick Lane instead? If that was another time then I had some other reason - which admittedly may have been not wanting to put your good lady and yourself out, but I can assure you it was nowt personal. I'll even talk to people with Luxes [:D]

Fen,

Your memory serves you fairly well, but I think that the Brick Lane evening was another occasion. It wasn't the dead of winter, as you and Phil ended up walking across much of East London afterwards trying to find Liverpool Street Station.

(I may, just possibly, perhaps, have been pulling your leg in the original post and it was indeed your decency in not wanting to put the domestic arrangements at zcacogp Towers out that meant you didn't come to din dins. You'd have been more than welcome as house guests are a very common occurrence here, but that's by the by.)

Good point. The walking tour of London would not have been so pleasant in December. Or maybe it was just an unseasonably nice evening? We never did find Liverpool Street, at least not without the aid of some other Tube station and train.

Hi all,
If Yi Ban doesn't work then the London region have for the past 2 years being going to Tayyabs curry house near Brick Lane, please drop a note on the link below if interested:

Paul,

Well, thus far it'll be you and me ...

Anyone else? (I was planning to quietly drop the idea, but if we can get - 3? 4? people then I think it'll be a go-er. And Mrs zcacogp may come along as well, perhaps, to boost the numbers.)

Yes, let me know when you can't manage and I'll choose a date accordingly.
