Julie You could put Moira and Me down for the sit down meal , The food has always been good when we have stayed at Beamish Hall and the hotel is excellent to stay the night Could do with a bit of entertainment this year

At our visit to the Aston workshops, conversation turned to the Christmas night out and one of the suggestions was Beamish Hall.

I offered to make some enquiries and it looks as though there are still some places.

they are doing some sit down meals with a disco for £30 and some buffet meals with a disco for £25 the menu and brochure can be found at www.beamish-hall.co.uk.

Both menus look good and if the Christmas nights are anything like our Charity ball there the food should be good. There are also some discounted room rates in the brochure for anyone wanting to stop overnight.

Please can you add a line to this thread if you are interested in either option stating which you would prefer or if you have any other suggestions?

We will need to move fairly fast if we want to get something in before Christmas.

The lady has been back in touch and to get a Saturday night it would have to be the one with CK2 entertainment and disco with a sit down meal at a cost of £35 This would be the 11th December. Otherwise it would have to be a friday night which may be more difficult for some. I have made a provisional booking for this night but will need to confirm it soon. Please can you let me know if this is Ok and if you'd like to come

Cheers
Julie

Put us on the list also please Julie (June and me) - I presume that accomodation is booked direct with Beamish. Chris

HI Chris I've put you down for 2. Yes the accomodation is booked directly with the Hall please. If you can't get in there there are a few alternatives: Beamish Park Hotel, Hedley Hall guest House and South Causey ... these are suggestions and NOT recommendations - on your own head be it no responsbility taken!!! Julie

Chris Have provisionally booked Beamish Hall for the 11th using this site [link=http://www.findmeahotelroom.com/hotels/hotel_availability.aspx?chaincode=CB&propertycode=044394]http://www.findmeahotelroom.com/hotels/hotel_availability.aspx?chaincode=CB&propertycode=044394[/link] Got it for £85 instead of going through Beamish hall that would of cost me £140 to £165 for the same night but you would need to book soon If you have problems with the site just phone them up on 01775843414 you will not get a better deal Have stayed at South Causey[] not recomended

Hi there! Sorry to appear tardy but with only a landline connection here in France I don't use the internet as much as in Durham. Lesley and I will be happy to join the crowd for Christmas dnner whereever, but from the thread above it looks as though Beamish Hall is pretty certain. Will try to book a room directly also. Cheers, Lesley and Ian

Ian Have just checked the site they still have rooms at that price if you phone +441775843414 infotel site they should give you a good deal, It was £85 for the 11th Dec

Got the menu and booking form today from Beamish Hall. The band is called CK2 and there is a disco until 0100 am. I'll bring the brochure to the next meeting They need a £10 deposit per person but they don't take personal cheques only cash or cards, so please can you either send me or at the next meeting give me your cheques made out to me Julie Knox (I promise not to abscond with the money too many of you know where i live!!) and then I'll make the payment by debit card after i've paid in the cheques. It will be easier for me if they are cheques rather than cash please. If you want to post them to me email me on julieknox@talktalk.net and i'll send you my address. I'll post the menu nearer to the time as we don't have to give tnem the choices until November 1st. Currently standing at 18 people to go and there will be a little bit of flexibility on those numbers for the next couple of months before they close it off Cheers Julie

Hi folks! Hotel booked at 'standard' rate of £85 as per advice given, thanks! Julie, I will happily send you the £20 deposit but am not back to UK until end June and don't have my UK cheque book here. Do you want a euro cheque??! Please e-mail yor address to ian.crosskell@lineone.net and I will post the cheque as soon as we return.
