Ciggy lighter not working

Ok my ciggarette lighter doesnt work... which means my Road angel doesnt work!

Has anyone ever changed one of these? is it something that I want to attempt to tackel myself or shall I just book it in somewhere and let them sort it out?

Not much too them, Has the fuse blown? Otherwise a live feed and an earth - instructions for removal here somewhere or on titanic under clock bulb replacement. If it looks corroded and well used then a replacment may be the easiest option.

I think the clock is on the same fuse so if the clock isn't working then hey presto you've found the answer.
Look in your owners manual to check what else is protected on that fuse.
Easy job to do.
Cheers,

Fred

I'll try the blindingly obvious solution first [:D] (and you'll kick yourself if this is it :ROFLMAO:)

The cigarette lighter socket is not live until the ignition is on. You haven't been trying to power your new toy with the ignition off have you?

Paul,
I don't know if this changed on later models but my 1984 944 and 1986 924S both have the cigar lighter live without the ignition switched on. Uses the clock fuse as protection. [:)]

Lali,
What year is your car?

Cheers,

It has changed on the oval dash cars and I believe they have lots more fuses.
Tony
PS thats quite a collection you have there Fred!

I agree, i think it is live without the ignition on.

And I believe that it actually shares a fuse with the interior lights, not the clock - but don't quote me on that
