CIS info.

Having read the BMW site article I decided to open up my 'warm-up regulator'.
The 924 had not been run for several years and would fire instantly on the cold-start juice but then stop after a few seconds. This is what I found :-

Puzzle is that both the perimeter seal on the backplate and the neoprene O-ring on the electrical plug body were in place and intact. The breather/weep hole has a 'maze' of small ridges to stop water being squirted in if engine bay gets pressure-washed. So just how did this amount of water get in ?

Third photo is the heating coil.
Haynes 'book of lies' says should give 20 ohms reading on meter. I got 18.1 ohms and when I stripped unit down - guess what?- it is an 18 ohm unit. Good old Haynes c**p.
