Anyone going to the Classic show at the NEC -anyone from here on the club stand
Would have gone but I'm on holiday at the same time, think I will be off to the one in the Autumn. Take a look at my friends stand "MB Engineering and Vapour Blasting", they usually have a couple of prepared rally cars on display.
The last meetings I went to that had any 944's there, were those Rutland meets. And I was practically invisible to most of the old fogies attending , because I wasn't part of the clique that had attended the dyno and track days, or hadn't been a member of some mailing list from decades ago.
Well I definitely wasn't in the circle of trust. I tried striking up a conversation with 2 or 3 owners of cars I recognised from the forum, and it was like pulling teeth. I was glad it was only 30 minutes from home, and the last time I was on my way before the parking charge kicked in.I never found it like that to be honest. I did used to be a member of the titanic mailing list and went to a couple of the rolling road days at Silverstone. I was probably the youngest guy there. Became the talking point when the turbo burst a coolant hose after the dyno run.
What happened to him?Was he involved in something!! Wasnt he big in Miami ,or did i dream that!?There is very little clearance between the front wheel and a MO30 caliper, they never rubbed though. Uwe Gemballa came to a sticky end in S Africa apparently.
I think he was based in Germany, and according to reports he was lured to S Africa and then murdered. What happened to him?Was he involved in something!! Wasnt he big in Miami ,or did i dream that!?
Apart from the Turbo and maybe the S2, I can see 944's fading away in the future. If prospective buyers do some research, it doesn't take long to find out they can cost more to restore than they are worth.Well good show hardly any 944s this was the only one
