Classic Line seem to be the cheapest for me at the moment, quoted me £298 fully comp, only car, for ungaraged on the street, central london, 6000 miles agreed value up to £10,000. Edd

Thanks copperman, just quoted me £260 and agreed valuation, looks like they'll get the business [:)]

Had my S2 for one year now and was on classic policy with Heritage. That expired on the 29th August and when phoning them earlier today to check on the renewal they admitted they hadn't sent me the renewal docs and my policy had now expired. Luckily the car is tucked up in the garage so not breaking the law.

Anyway they can set me up again for £292 limited to 5k miles per year and guaranteed value.

what are your views am I likely to get cheaper, the poor back office experience with Heritage has got me wondering

try these first [link=http://www.footmanjames.co.uk/classic_car.aspx]http://www.footmanjames.co.uk/classic_car.aspx[/link]

Hagerty Insurance cost me £155 on a modified 944 Turbo. 3k miles £50 excess inc breakdown. Rich

Was with Norwich Union thro' Auto Trader, fully comp, 3k miles pa,went from £260 to £460 with no claim or change of details. Now with RH Specialist [link=http://www.rhclassicinsurance.co.uk]www.rhclassicinsurance.co.uk[/link] who have charged me £129, 5k miles pa, so they are worth speaking to as well.

I've used AON (now Footman James) modern classics policy. Full comp with all the usual bells and whistles, low excess, unlimited mileage and mods declared and 5 trackdays a year (with higher excess and some limitations) for about £260. Only issue is it needs to be your second car as you don't earn any NCB.

I got a quote from Heritage yesterday for my 944 Lux of £171 fully comp including 3k limited miles, free trackday cover and windscreen cover. (I'm 33 and the car is parked on the road outside my flat) I was very pleased with the quote but not sure I should go for it now. [8|]

My S2 is insured with Heritage (similar premium)...pity you've had a bad experience. I've found them very efficient, especially when dealing with a claim: I was unfortunate to have my first S2 written off when it was rear ended, and because it was a guaranteed value policy the claim was dealt with promptly and efficiently (received a cheque for the full amount very quickly). The uninsured loss was sorted too. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them.

Hagerty for mine, very good service & one of the few that permit a car not to be garaged.

Just thought I'd bring this back to life as I've just re-insured LIL. Searched the threads and tried Heritage £282.00 and then Hagerty £203.00. Staggering difference - now insured with Hagerty !

I am with Swinton's Classic, 5k/year, £100 excess and £201/year on my modified Turbo kept on the drive (but I am a 40 year old[:)])

(when we had our S2) I moved from a 5k miles PA scheme with ClassicLine to a std scheme with Sainsburys. It cost an extra £10 per year, but the restrictions surrounding annual mileage and insistance that it was parked in a locked garage overnight were lifted. The only downside was lack of agreed value, which I saw as a fair compromise given the above (ours was a genuine 2nd car as opposed to a weekend toy).

£178 For my 2 turbos with all mods declared, 5k pa agreed value and garaged, had a windscreen claim with no problems whatsoever a couple of years ago. AON now Footman James i beleive.
