Classic Le Mans

Geoff

Kim and I are going too [:)]. Accommodation booked and crossing paid for.

Assuming tickets get sorted [8|], we could have an informal R10 get together, say, Saturday afternoon in the Porsche Club France parking area? (Is Mike back over and going?)

Mike
Yes Mike and Sherry flying in from USA to Paris and hiring car, so wont be Porsche im afraid. Have another Sean Smallman coming along, maybe in his Speedster as well otherwise the 944 Cab
See you there!!
Geoff
P.S will put note on when i get forms from Vincent

Geoff, will Vincent be sending details to everyone who went in 2006, or do we need to contact him?

Mike
Not sure have had a email that looks like on standard circulation but i had sent him email to ask what was happening. I will copy any forms for you if you want
Geoff

Geoff

Thanks a lot for posting the info - have you had any other feedback apart from the forms, i.e about "˜display parking' or otherwise? Will watch this space, too[:D].

Cheers

The display parking is organised by Porsche Club France and is part of the package. It is normally inside circuit behind grandstands,They do a superb job with the team on scooters directing you to the correct model parking. If you have not been before it is superb. Lets hope the weather is as good this time as in 2004 and 2006
Regards
Geoff

Hi Paul, I have just had contact from Vincent Flandin of Porsche Club France Classic who is the nominated organiser for all Porsche visitors to Classic Le Mans 2008 as he has been for the previous three occasions. His message is that the final arrangements have not yet been finalised between Patric Peter and Porsche AG. He expects that the application forms should be available in early March (sic). This is for ALL Porsche Clubs and drivers of Porsche cars so please do not think we are too late, NO-ONE has been able to make any bookings yet for all of the Porsche things that will be available. We are all waiting. Just make sure you have your channel crossing and your accommodation booked.

Geoff and Robin

Thanks for your informed postings... Have chunnel and accomodation sorted - I'll just try and sit tight and keep my eyes and ears open!

Looks like I'm doing both this year, with a trip in June either to see the 24 hour, or a trip down to the Milau bridge. The entry list this year doesn't look that promising and the rule changes mean there is very little chance of an LM2 outright win by an Aston or Porsche.

We are also planning to do the classic as well, and I've asked for our name to be included on the list at Cornbury to be contacted when the details on tickets are available. Planning on one of the longer ferry crossings down to Caen, for the (in our opinion) more interesting roads accross to Le Mans.

According to another thread on this (general discussion area?), details on Porsche Parking and facilities will be sent out shortly (ie next week or so). A bit late in the day, but hopefully properly organised!!

Hi all, have responded to both email accounts advised by Vincent Flandin of PCF( same detail given in other threads) awaiting response. Biggest change is the local PCF region who normaly organise have had responsibility taken from them by Porsche and Federation of French Porsche Clubs , so will wait to see what happens now. No response to date
Geoff
