Classic Porsche Specialist Yorkshire?

Hello I am a new classic air cooled 911 owner.

and I wanting to find a recommended Porsche specialist or mechanic in the Yorkshire area. Can anyone help.

im based in howarth but willing to travel. to start off with I would like to get the car checked over. and see what needs to be done to the car. Then once that’s done look at a few upgrade.

if this is your first Porsche welcome to the wonderful world of Porsche ownership.

I’ve used Revolution Porsche in Birstall for several years albeit for water cooled models although of late I’ve had some routine jobs done elsewhere due to availability.
I know air cooled 911 drivers who use their own favoured independent Porsche specialists and I think it best for you to listen to their recommendations. There is a Fathers Day event at Castle Howard today, with a large PCGB group, which some are attending. Hopefully they will see your post later and respond.

First, congratulations! What car did you get?

Sam Lander looks after both my 930 and my 997 Turbo. My 930 had a convoluted, hidden problem which three known Porsche specialists and two OPC classic centres couldn't diagnose. Took Sam two days. Car has been perfect ever since. I travel about 90min each way to see Sam as I rate him very highly.

My experience with a few other places was that their younger teams were generally not familiar with older technologies, so there was a lot of head scratching or them sending the car off to a different specialist, more head scratching... If you have specific concerns I would suggest asking in advance how familiar they are with your type of car as carbs are very different to mechanical fuel injection, to ECU controlled injection, etc..

I sent my 981 GTS for an Oil/Filter today between the 2 year service interval to Max Walker and was throughly impressed with Max. He knows his Porsches, great guy to deal with and very competitive on pricing. Highly recommended

Yes i agree. I was there today as well, and he gave my 911 a major service, and inspection very happy. great price and he definitely knows his stuff.

Thanks it is a special car, and I’m hoping to sympathetically resomod the car, so I can use it as my every day car. It just such a pure drive.
