Classics Monthly

Hi all,

Can you all go out and buy this month's copy of Classics Monthly? And, write to the letters page to tell them how good the feature on the 944S2 is....[;)]

Whilst not everything written is absolutely entirely accurate, as in it's not my only car for instance, it does come out pretty well from the quick read through I had. Hopefully if this is the best-ever selling issue and the mailbax is overflowing it'll encourage more publicity for the cars. [:D]

First one to spot the glaring fault in the pictures wins "Smartass of the Year" award.

So we have to go out and buy the article we researched for you.......

Yes.....you do get a picture of me for your office wall though. [;)]

I had to buy a copy, never even got a freebie!

Just to add, this is a great advert for the Display Register as well. Magazines, TV compaies etc. come to the Club because we can provide exactly what they need, be it a specific model or even colour.

If you've not put your car on the Display Register then you could miss out on both a great experience and the pride you get from seeing your car in print or on display at an exhibition.

I will buy the mag, only got the usual three so far this month, running out of reading material!

Paul, how do you get onto the Display Register?

Err..details in Porschefile? And, in every Porsche Post for about a year now! [:D][:D]

IIRC it's display@porscheclubgb.com but please correct this if I'm wrong as I've not got a copy at hand. [&o]

Glad to hear you are pleased with the article Paul. You are a very good advert for the Display Register and proof that the system really does work.

We love the way you plug the Register at every opportunity---Pity we didn't get an invitation to the Workers' Conference to plug it further. Mind you we haven't got a Forum place or window stickers yet either.

Doh! - sorry, I'm a new member, will check ths out!
Thanks

I did notice that your S2 badge on the rear is not in the right place ....

Well spotted! I'm guessing that next month's letters page will be full of train-spotting readers who think the article was totally compromised by the incorrect arrangement of my S2 badge! [:D][:D]

Never mind the way they made up every comment the owners were quoted as saying....[&:]

Still good publicity for the model though. That can only be very good thing for us all.

Hi Guys,

Was sorry not to see you there. I gave Barry a copy of the article and he used it to promote the Display Register in all his groups. I hope that all the other Regional and Register volunteers present promote the Display Register more on the back of it.

For those members who aren't on the Display Register please consider joining it. You might never get a call, but on the other hand there might just be that call from Spielberg needing a Zyclamen turbo by next week for his latest film. Ok, more likely it'll be a request from a mag, or for a car needed at Autosport, but still worth doing.

Out of interest, I'll be needing an original Silver Rose. Sorry, sorry, sorry, a Rose Silver Turbo S [:D][:D][:D], for an event next year. There will be some very good free tickets for this one, so contact either myself or Mac and Sue if you can help.

Typically there's not anything on the Display Register in this month's issue. [&:]

We do try to avoid filling the magazine with endless contact details, that's why there's the seperate Porschefile directory. The e-mail is correct, and we've set up a new forum area for the Register so details will be on there as soon as possible.

Cheers,

Not been able to find a copy of Classics Monthly yet, maybe they don't send out copies to the wilds of East Anglia ? [&:]

Might be worth a few of you calling CM and asking why you can't buy a copy! If enough people want to by mags with 944 content they will keep printing it. [8|]

Just popped down to the local Tescos in my lunch break and they do indeed have plenty of copies, so promptly bought one. Thought it was a pretty good article and of course the best car won. [:)]
