Cleaning my Insides Out

Quite literally.

Did the outside all Saturday. Noticed the repair on the drivers side rear wing has sank, so back to the OPRC (lifetime guarantee so I don't foresee any probs!).....

And then started on the interior. Started by removing both front seats to give them a bit of a leather clean and polish (see before below - afters to follow!). Then thought I'd clean the carpets while the seats are out.....

and took the carpets out instead. 15 years of muck-on-cream takes it's toll (even though it was looking clean to the untrained eye!) Planning on giving them a good clean with low foam carpet cleaner to bring them back to new. All I can say is.... how easy was it to remove! The seats have six hex bolts - non of your fancy pants torx bits there then!, and the carpet - 1 hour to remove - half of that to work out how to get it round the handbrake and accelerator. I realise now why you pay the extra for these - engineered to a much higher standard than most other metal!

are the carpets stuck down or do they just come away really easily?I would love to rip my interior to bits and get it all mint.

They do have glue on the back, but wern't stuck down too much - more like masking tape strength than industrial strength glue.

After picture of seats below. Carpets out of the car to follow!!

she is going to look mint when you are finished.
Do you have to take the centre console out or just slide the carpet out from under it? what about the back seats did you take them out too?

The centre console needs to come out - four bolts plus undo the connections for the switches (10 minutes). Haven't bothered taking the back seats out because they haven't been sat in, and being leatherette, they look brand new - will look even newer with a little clean.

Carpets below!

Edit:- Just noticed that they look alot grubbier in the photo - there not that bad, just dirty round where the seats have been, and you can't get too!
