I have just spent a couple of days polishing my Boxster following the excellent articles by Dave posted here:

Whilst cleaning further questions arise. I managed to get a later 2.7 for almost early 2.5 money by making some compromises. It's a good honest car with a full Porsche history that has been reasonably well looked after and probably used as a daily drive all of its life. However, one of the compromises was the condition of the wheels. They are beginning to corrode so need shot blasting and powder coating. Can anybody recommend a company in Portsmouth or surrounding area who will do a reasonable job.
Second is the plastic trim outside the vehicle. Below the windscreen and the the air intakes in the front have turned grey, almost white. Has anybody experience of an effective polish that will restore the black and keep it that way?
Finally, internal plastic trim. Any good polishes? Mine doesn't have a leather dash so there is an expanse of plastic with load of small raised diamonds embossed in it. It also has the sports seats in leather and the silver trimming option, somebody was going for the sport look when they ordered it. The silver trim is also a bit grubby in places, a good clean up will improve it and if anybody has a way to fix the chips in the silver trim it would be interesting.
In my previous 944 I only used a damp cloth to clean the plastic as chemicals might have dried out the already cracking dashboard, a accepted problem with 944s. So if this is an inevitability with Boxsters then careful treatment is needed now. Otherwise I'll just use household Mr Sheen like I do in my Focus. Don't jump up and down in disgust it is only a Focus.
