Hi everyone,

First of many drive outs for R3 in 2011 (hopefully) The date 20/03/2011.
Start from Lumley Castle Chester-le-Street DH3 4NX.

Meet at around 9.30am to leave for 10.00am. Please note you may join/leave en route if you find this more convenient, a map will be provided.

Route is to travel up the coast via Warkworth Castle before stopping at Alnwick Castle to visit the fantastic Alnwick gardens, which is free to enter at this time of year. Sunday lunch is served in the amazing Tree House Restaurant where pre-booking for numbers is essential; £15.50 for 2 courses a £5.00 deposit is required, alternatively they also have a tea room if prefered.

Plan to leave Alnwick around 2.00pm. Route back will take about 2.5 hours, and will take in views past Bamburgh Castle, Chillingham Castle, Cragside House & Wallington Hall to fianlly arrive back at the trusty old Dun Cow for a fun prize giving, a well-earned pint, and chat about the day.

We at Region 3 look forward to your support and hope you will join us for a what promises to be a great day out.
Can anyone who is interested in attending please let me know so we have an idea of numbers.

Best wishes Greg Harm.

P.S. suggestions for future drive outs always appreciated.

Doh!
I was looking forward to those too [:(]

Great run out Greg, even the weather was with us for most of the day. Apols we didn't make it back to the Dun Cow but thanks very much for all the effort you and Deb put in to organising it!

Well done Gred and Deb, great organisation despite my little excursion into South Shields in search of V power.[:D]

Thanks and great to see some new faces, this bodes well for an action packed year in 2011

I would also like to add my thanks to Greg and Deb for organising this.
My "award" is now proudly displayed on the wall at work beside my desk [:D]

My only regret is that we didn't get chance to look round any of the sites that we visited, still thoroughly enjoyed the day out though.

Another Thank You from me and Jackie for the brilliant organisation and especially the great directions, oh and similarly for my award which has pride of place in the office as well, the unexpected pleasures are always the best.

If anyone has taken pictures on the day will you email them to me so I can put them on our gallery page for the north east region
thanks graham

Thanks for all the positive feedback guys. It was great to see such a good turn out, wasn't it? As Ashley said, hopefully it's a sign of things to come!
Any suggestions or requests for future drives are always welcome.
Greg & Deb
