Clear indicators

I've been trying out some clear lenses made by Richard (Wolfie308) on my white car and thought I'd post some before and after pictures [:D]

And an arty shot to finish with:

I'm going to try them on the red car when the white car goes back into the bodyshop in a few weeks and will post some pics of how they look on that one too [:D]

Nice! If you swap the orange bulb for a chrome one it will look even better as it gets rid of the "fried egg" look (IMHO)

Are they lighter? [;)] Whats the front bumper/PU that youre running? It looks like a standard 937 pattern with Le Mans GTP -type ducts added...

Stuff what it looks like, how's it go with the supercharger on it?

Picked any 951's out of the air filter yet? [;)]

Oli.

I would try a chromed bulb too, but otherwise the clear lenses really lift an already gorgeously mean looking front end. The closeup pictures seem to show a really good paint finish on the fibre glass panels [8D] I can't wait to see it in the flesh to have a real good nose.

I'm sure it's just an optical illusion but in the 3rd low angled photo the rear of the front wing behind the wheel looks like it is concave and then steps out to meet the door. Is it an optical illusion? [&:]

Cheers John, I'll try a chrome bulb and see, one thing I mentioned to Richard was that I was concerned that without side repeaters I wanted the light to remain very visible, and the current setup certainly seems fine.

Oli, the supercharger is very close to going in, I need to get the O2 sensor out of the exhaust to re calibrate it first (can't get to it myself safely, need to get it onto some ramps) and then I'll be fitting the piggyback, then the injectors to ensure they work with my electrics and finally I'm ready to bolt in the charger [:D] I'm not sure if I am going to get time before the next track day but that was my aim.

Paul, the line seems pretty good on the wings, I think it's just a reflection in the picture (there was a high spot on that wing but think it was pretty well removed). Please excuse the panel fit at the front, it was only a temporary fix to get it ready for Frontrunners. I can't wait for the paint to be mopped and then I can start polishing it and really get a shine going! Btw, did you get the email I sent you the other day about the clock?

Simon, the bumper is a 924GTR replica piece thats been modified to fit a standard width car.

Cheers Peter, reckon they look a treat, and as John and Paul have said, silvered bulbs are highly recommended to finish the look. For maximum brightness, you could also chrome the inside of the units - I've just put the links as the pics are huge..

Be nice to see them on the red car as well, but I think my preference will be on white(can't believe I said that)[:D]

No problem - you can alternate them depending on which one is in the bodyshop/garage

Looks amazing, the white bodywork is such a nice shade, cannot wait to see it in the metal,i even liked the indicators yellow![:D]

In the metal it looks positively evil...!

In a good way, obviously![:D][:D]

TBH I thought the panel fit is already pretty damned good. We all know that some of these aftermarket panels can be pretty ropey but if it's going to be even better than it already is then I think you and the guys at S.A.R have obviously done the homework and spent the time prepping them to a very high standard.

The few glimpses I've seen so far make it one of the most striking 944's in the country [8D]

I think they look great Peter - although now I see the 924 pic with the Orange ones, I'm a bit torn...

Are you doing any days in June? - If the car holds up round the 'ring I'd like to fit in an outing before Silverstone

Also love the mirrors and the front nose with the stick on plate, the whole vibe is pure racecar[8D]

Looks great Pete, better with the clear indicators - nice job Wolfie. Nice to see your project is finally there, it must be immensely satisfying. Looking forward to hearing your first running in anger reports.

[:)] Thanks for all the kind comments. As you can probably guess I'm really pleased with the work done, just wait till you see the roof close up... The colour is really dazzling in strong sunlight and its not even been mopped/polished yet [:D]

I like the look of the chromed internals/bulb on the indicators, I think I'll have to look into that as it lifts the front quite a bit and better matches the side lights (although for how long those are staying is another matter, they might just be removed to allow more cooling). I'm torn as I almost like the retro look of the amber lights as much as I like the clear ones, but I suspect once the headlight covers are fixed in place then clear will win.

Ed, my colleague is on holiday for the quite a bit of June, so I don't think I'm going to be able to get have much time, but I might try to sneak in a cheap day somewhere if I still have concerns about the setup, so I can be sure it's fighting fit for July [:D].

I actually prefer the amber lights as it breaks up the lack of colour in the front end.I do like the fact the side repeaters are deleted ,i know its only subtle but its something i was planning on doing but was unsure what it would look like but looks great on your car !!

My vote (if i had one) would be for the amber ones, for the same retro-ey(new word!) reasons.
P.S Not mopped??Not polished!!!????[:D]
More Pics please!

Liking the look :) I'm for original orange lights after all its a track slag not some fast & furious streed rod ;)

clear indicator lenes look awesome! where can i get some and how much are they? [:D]

sorry, too excited there! i became a 944 owner on Sunday (16/08) it's silver but it REALLY needs clear lights, i only seem to be able to find S2 ones, so i'm very pleased to see these!! [:D]

cheers, JuvUK
