Clicking noise from hood

My 2000 Box has developed a very loud clicking noise from the roof mechanism just by my right ear - very annoying. It is very distinct and is seperate from all the general creeks and groans from the roof mechanism that I thin everyone gets on our superbly surfaced roads
Any ideas anyone?

I have just bought a 2004 Ltd Ed 550 and I have to say the creaks that come from the roof on uneven surfaces is driving me batty, they appear to be comming from the passengers side I have asked this question before but did not get a lot of responce ,is this normal .

With this problem there are so many sources that the noise could come from.

Seats touching rollover bars, dirty window rubbers, dirty sun visor hinges to start with.

Check for loose fittings, loose items in the door pockets, check all the hood fittings are there and attached.

I have a similar noise coming from just behind my right ear and thought it was the hood, having cleaned and lubricated all the seals, including the seal under the piece of bodywork that covers the hood when it's down. However it's still there and is apparent on any road that isn't perfectly even and does get very annoying at times. I have discovered though, that putting outward pressure on the rearmost part of the window solves the problem, be warned, this is difficult to do while driving :). All the window seals are perfectly clean so I can't do much more about it. It's probably coming from where the window is sitting inside the door, maybe not quite enough pressure on it when sitting in the window seals. I'll be bringing it in to the dealer soon to see that they can do. Perhaps the door needs a minor adjustment to make it close tighter or the base of the window needs something to to stop it moving so freely. I'm pretty sure the same noise is also coming fromn the passenger side.

I'm still waiting for my dealer to get feedback from Porsche as to why the softtop warning light only comes on briefly, just as the top is finished opening or closing, and why the top has stopped closing sweetly into its slots on the windscreen frame and needs a bit of manual assistance. Does anyone else have these problems? It occured to me that perhaps the top not closing properly might be due to the fabric contracting in cold weather. I'm quite happy to have it down on a clear but cold day and this tends to be when the problem occurs but at this time of the year I won't get a chance to see if warm weather solves the problem.

Went out in the Box last night to the regional meeting and tried pressing the window glass outwards as I went along and agree that the clicking did stop however it continued if the window was wound down which suggests the problem is in one of the jointa of the window mechanism but is not associated with the window itself.

my roof has always creaked anf groaned to a greater or lesser extent depending primarily on the road surface - I get the impression that everyone's does as well

I've come to think it's not the window causing it, despite how exerting pressure on the window stops or reduces the noise. I think its more to do with the seals at the top rearmost part of the door, as the noise is present even with the window down. When I notice the noise, I can see a lot of flexing between the door and the body. If I jam my finger into the gap between the door and the frame at the top, the noise also goes away. So I think it's the plastic seals at the top rear part of the door. However, no amount of cleaning or lubrication seems to help. I should be visiting the dealer soon, so I'll let you know if they've got a solution, I reckon a minute adjustment of the door latch might solve the problem.,

As for general creaking from the top, despite living in a cobblestoned area, I don't hear any creaks or rattles from the top, or from anywhere else for that matter. The only noise is this door/window clicking behind my right ear and it's driving me nuts.
