Climate Control

My climate control unit is royally F****d.....if you change the temperature the engine misfires :(

Does anyone know of any UK ECU/CCU test/repair outfits? There's a company advertising on eBay at the moment for $300 = 5 year guarantee on the repair (993/964 climate control unit) but means sending to the states. I don't want another second hand unit as I now have three that are all a bit faulty - unless there's a cast iron guarantee it's gonna work!

Help/advice please dudes.

Hi greg

I recently had mine overhauled in the states, took about 6 to 8 weeks. It also has a life time guarantee.

Unfortunately I think it is the wrong unit that someone had put in the car before i bought it so now I need to sell it and buy the correct one.

my unit is a 00 and I think I may need a 01.

Before I put it up for sale one of the guys on here has kindly offered a swapping trial to make sure the 01 unit is what I need.

Hi Lee,

If the 00 is an earlier revision, I wander if it's suitable for an 89? Feel free to consider selling it to me if that's the case :)

00 is for 89/90 cars 01 is for 91-94 cars. For RHD cars the simple summary is:

964 659 046 00 - no a/c 89 and 90 cars
964 659 048 00 - with factory a/c 89 and 90 cars
964 659 046 01 - no a/c 91 to 94 cars
964 659 048 01 - with factory a/c 91 to 94 cars

You can use the equivalent 993 module in 91 to 94 cars.

hi Greg

Once I have had chance to visit Steve to do some swap checking I will let you know how I get on.

If I need to sell I will put a post on here. Although wouldn't have a clue of how much a working one with a life time guarantee would

be worth. Anyway I'll keep you posted.
