Climate Control

What speed and direction does everyone else' s climate control work at when the weather is warm/hot?

It was 23c today and my climate control was set to ' auto' and the inside temp was set to 23c. The car was cool enough inside but the climate control seemed very noisy in so far as the fan never got below half speed and for some reason a lot of the cold air was directed through the windscreen defrost vents rather than the face level vents.

The system looks remarkably similar to the one I had in my Audi A4 and this always seemed to be very quiet and didn't need anything like the amount of fan that this system needs despite the A4 having a much bigger interior space to cool.

I believe the control panel is an Audi design. The one word on it is also not in English.

I noticed that the fan is always too high and noisy, so I override it vitrually all the time.
I have the temp set low (19.5 or 20) and have the centre vents selected when it is hot, or floor and windscreen when cool.
When the outside temp is below 16 or 17 I don' t bother with the compressor (snow flake symbol) unless it is raining.

In the morning when it is cool I have the window open a couple of inches rather than use it, unless I am on the motorway when it is too noisy.

I know this is not the point and that I am completely defeating the point of having it, but it' s habit, borne of years of air conditioning use rather than climate control, where you can have cold air regardless of the temp. Plus driving a car where you noticed the compressor kick in and out and reduce the engine power (making it easier to stall).

Have to agree, one of the disappointments is the climate control, it seems to operate at about 3 - 4 degrees lower than other cares I have had, ie doesn,t warm up until you set 23/24 degrees, and althou eventually will cool the cabin down to 19 degrees takes an awfully long time.
