Clock adjuster fitment.

The Saint.

New member
My clock adjuster in the dash clocks snapped off and left with part of the sleeve. Can adjust clock with long nosed pliers, but have got hold of a new adjuster. Do they just push on and pull off or are they threaded? Can the new adjuster be fitted without dismantling the clocks?

I think they just push on. The workshop manual isn't any help either:

Opening instrument cluster

1. Remove adjusting knob for clock and daily trip mileage display.
................

Assembling instrument cluster
................
6. Replace adjusting knob for clock and daily trip mileage display.

Thanks Richard. Will find out tomorrow when I attempt to fit them. Will let you know, it may help somebody in the future.[;)]

Hmmm. Well I failed. The clock adjuster fits over another plastic sleeve, which I think must be attatched inside the clocks.
So means removing the clocks, may leave it for now as I don't fancy removing them. Unless I find a good how to somewhere anyway. Nothing is ever simple.lol.

Thanks Richard, but I found how to remove cluster on Renntech, and managed to sort out the clock adjuster. Just swapped the good stem from dimmer control onto the clock adjuster. Don't know why Porsche use plastic stems, very poor. Anyway will attempt repair on the dimmer tomorrow with new adjuster knob and good old Tiger seal.[;)]
