CLOCK!

I know there's been loads on here relating to the 944 digital clock. Mine is bust. Save me trawling all the way through, in a nutshell - is there a relatively cheap fix / replacement available?

Is it possible to fit the analogue 924 (early 944?) clock in its position? I am thinking it may be a bit big height wise...

Trev,
The short answer is no.
It does depend on what is broken, I imagine the electronics could be fixed but if the screen has bled it will need replacing and that is where we are all coming up short it seems.
In theory an LCD screen that size should be only a few pounds but currently noone has found out who supplied VDO and they won't play ball.
It's cheaper to make sure your radio has a clock than buy a working second hand one.
Hopefully some bright spark will come up with a solution soon.

Mmmm... That's what I thought David. Ta!

Seen a few analogue clocks for sale on eBay. It seems thay are 50mm - should fit OK width ways, but a little snug in height!

When mine died I got a second hand one from Porsch-apart for not too much money which worked fine , dont know what they go for nowdays. New ones from OPC are stupidly expensive.

I think that they are the same as the one in the 968 Club Sport. One of the guys on the 968 forum bought one from the OPC and it was over £200, but it didn't fit. Apparently, the original has been superseded and the replacement is too deep (I think).

Don't think my 944 will ever be faultless so wouldn't mind relpacing it with anything that works! Something that could maybe stuck over the top / prepare a new apperture to fix something in. Anyone got any ideas / experience?

Did consider an anlogue clock from an earlier model but am told it's 50mm which is the same as the trim height!

Think my second hand one was £50 or so - certainly worth giving Porsch-apart a ring imo. Think Colchester OPC quoted me £260 for a new one and that was four years ago !
