Clonking noises from hood when rasied

Mine's a 2003 S which in all respects for the age is damn nigh perfect. Just back "from a lap" - I live on the Isle of Man - and lordy this thing grips and goes.

Those that say it's better than sex ain't getting quality sack action, but it does put a mighty big smile on your face.

My question relates to clonking/banging/rattling coming from the roof when it's up. Sure the rides hard (like we care) and roads over here off TT course are poor, but it doen't sound great to the extent I'm sure something's worked loose. Happens mostly over ridges, it's not dampers/bushes as these have been replaced.

Any tips or feedback welcomed, if "they all do it" then so be it but I'll at least be better informed.

Cheers.

I had a 2003 S and it suffered from what I describe as 'creaking' noises over bumps. OPC Cambridge sorted it for me, it was simply dirt in the seals around the window and along the top of the screen. The mechanic advised use of WD40 on a cloth and give everything a good clean. I subsequently ensured the seals and joints were lubricated with a silicon lubricant. This may be your problem, worth a try anyway.
I solved the problem long term by puting a roof on it, Cayman S! Still miss the wind in the hair though.
