There are no Shell filing stations in my neck of the woods. There used to be one on the nearest Motorway junction, but that is a 70 mile round trip. When out and about, I used to keep the tank topped with Shell V-Power 98 RON when passing. On one occasion, when I had the Ferrari, I even made a special journey over there just to fill the tank (that was my excuse anyway!) [] Problem was, by the time I got home it needed filling once again.
But my Shell station has now changed to BP - 97 RON Ultimate is a perfectly good fuel - it's just that I don't have any BP cards. Then a couple of things happened. My local filling station in the village changed brands from Texaco to Esso and Esso started selling its Synergy Supreme 99 RON. This persuaded me to take advantage of the Esso fuel card being offered to Club members.
It's a simple process of applying online and it takes a few days to set up, but once you receive your card, you can start using it right away. The advantage to me is I no longer have to save all those annoying little till receipts, but I still receive regular invoices for me to check plus a monthly statement, all online, from the card company. When i arrive at the forecourt all I do is offer the fuel card in the normal way, put in my pin and charge the fuel to my account - no cash needed. Best of all, I receive a discount on every litre I buy, so over the course of a year this mounts up to be quite a saving.
If you've not yet thought about Esso fuel or a Club fuel card, it may be worth your consideration. I've been using mine for about 6 months now and find it is all working extremely well.

Clive
