What are the south-west meetings in the Sherbrooke hotel like (I should have gone down tonight but apathy won out)? Is it just an informal get together in the bar or is it a more structured hire-a-room type thing?

Paul they are an informal blether in the bar - you missed one last night next event track night at knockhill next Wed why not come along?

Won' t be here next Wednesday, I' m afraid. And in any event, I doubt I' d want to demonstrate the fact I can' t drive the thing properly yet in front of a group of strangers, never mind getting in their way on the track :) Is it possible to get the track to yourself for an hour with an instructor during the day, and how much is it?

Speak to knockhill or I' m sure some of the regulars will give you a bit of assistance

Paul, before participating in my 1st Knockhill track-night last year, 3 of us bought track driving courses from Knockhill. It's brilliant fun. You get personal on-track tuition with a Knockhill driving instructor in your own car. They teach you how to take the racing line, when to brake, etc, etc. You will build up your confidence enough to know you can drive with best of them. I subsequently did all of the track-nights last year and am booked to do all of them this year again [:D]

Look up Knockhill's website @ http://www.knockhill.co.uk/ A performance driving course will cost you £85. Well worth it.

I had no idea that it was possible to receive tuition in your own car at Knockhill. Had thought about doing one of the MGF or single seater days, just to learn the layout of the track, racing lines and braking points etc, but it makes perfect sense to me to find out how my own car handles before going out solo!!!
