Sorry if I've got this completely wrong but at the last Ascot meet was there talk of a run to Beaulieu on 4th Nov and another run out (orgainsed by Craig?) on 2nd Dec?

Just trying to pencil in a few dates before going on holiday.

Cheers

James

Hi James

Yes, I remember that Lesley was going to either post the info here or speak to John who would post the info?

Hopefully one of them will post soon. [;)]

J.

We will run out to Beaulieu as discussed at my flying visit in October.

Meet Balmoral Drive Frimley for 10.am departure, sticking to all the speed limits. In the absence of much help from the region in which the museum resides (I made three unreturned phone-calls to the only region 17 memebr who replied), for the benefit of the region's members I am going to take a trip down there, possibly Weds, to find and prewarn a reasonable pub that a few hungry Porscherists might descend upon them on the fourth for a bit of grub.

Hi John

Any chance of a postcode of where to meet, as those with SatNavs will find it easier to get there.

I know the area ... having worked near there for 16 years !

Might bring the 924 Le Mans for a run for a change

Tim

Excellent, just what I was wondering.

We'll be there.

Looking good to be at this, the rolling road thing, the run to Cornbury House on 2nd Dec (John, please post some more details about the R31 lunch) and Reading OPC on 8th Dec.

Cheers

James

As there is a run out planned does this mean that there will not be a meet at the Ascot Hotel this Sunday at 12.00?

The very able Lesley Kett will look after things at the hotel for those who want to stand and chat meeting time as normal

Tune in Saturday and I will post my mobile number for use as an emergency contact for Sunday's run.

Yes
Or rather no. I will be driving from the Bird in Hand to Cornbury for my pleasure. I cannot stop anyone from following me then, in just the same way as I will be driving to Beaulieu this Sunday, with the same constraints.

Let's be clear - there will be two events on 2 December. John will be going to Cornbury and others can follow at a discrete distance - not because he doesn't like you but because it could get a bit "technical" around legal stuff if it looks too organised. Get my drift?

The other event will be a run through the countryside, also starting at the Bird in Hand, and ending somewhere else. We'll call it a Mystery Run for want of a better description. I have the route planned, we'll take in some good roads and stop off in a couple of places, and we'll not stray too far from home but I promise you a good few miles and a variety of road types. We'll do some Berkshire, some Oxfordshire, a sliver of Wiltshire I think, and perhaps a slice of Hampshire too. We can end up back at The Royal Berkshire for a swift half and to meet anyone who goes to neither event on the day. Oh, and John has kindly given us a few pennies for cups of tea and mince pies along the way.

Those up for the Mystery Run, please post your names in this thread to give me an idea of numbers - up to 12 is good, more than that and I'll have to fill in some forms. [:-] I may nee dto call on a second group leader if we need to cut the size of the convoy - any volunteers?

Let's have a good turnout for these events - it'll be a great way to end 2007 and give a good indication of the sort of things people will support in 2008. I'm all for more driving events personally - if any others out there feel the same, get on board!

Put me down for that one then John - or rather, by pure coincidence I might take a similar run out to Cornbury.

It does seem a bit of a shame that there are two "touring opportunities" on the same day.

Fear not. The Thames valley region is coming out of the meeting room and onto the road. There will be many more oppportunities. Don't forget the "pilgrimage" to PC Reading on the 8th Dec. Book your car in and have the work carried out before 31st Dec and the charge will be £65 per hour plus v.a.t.
10% discount on parts to club members.
VEHICLES MUST BE FIVE YEARS OLD OR OVER.

For those going to Cornbury House on 2nd December, see my post on this forum regarding a Christmas Lunch.
