Hi Everyone

Club night will take place at the Ferryboat on January 9th. However, expect this to be a very quite affair. No speakers, quizzes,NAT, JON or TOM etc just a chat over a pint for those who turn up. This is due to Post Christmas Lunch being just a few days away and we look forward to seeing most of you at this event.

Your committee will however be at the Ferryboat on the 9th meeting to put the finishing touches to events for the 2013 season.

Silverstone Classic 26-28 July 2013

Most of you will know this is one of my favourite events on the calendar. However this year it is also our National event. A world record attempt at getting 911x911's on track on the Sunday. See below as recently published in Porsche Post
-----------------------
The National Event for 2013 will be held at the Silverstone Racing Circuit in Northamptonshire over the weekend of the Classic Racing Festival 26 to 28 July 2013.

It was in 1963 that the iconic 911 was first introduced to the public at the Frankfurt Motor Show. It would eventually become the successor to the ever green 356 which had proved so popular and continues to be so to this day. 2013 is the 50th anniversary of the launch of the first 911 and this will be celebrated by Porsche enthusiasts the world over!

World Record of 911s Parade
To help with the celebrations the club will be attempting to get 911 x 911s driving around on the Grand Prix circuit at Silverstone at the same time. It will be a huge task to organise and with the support of all or members the board feels sure we can show the Factory and the world just how dedicated we are to the marque!

We are hoping to attract several celebrities and dignitaries from the Factory to help us achieve our world record attempt and lead us around the circuit.

Silverstone Classic is the world's largest classic car racing festival and the parade lap will be in front of thousands of spectators and the worlds press.

If you would like to be a part of this spectacular parade can you please register your interest by email to Silverstone911@porscheclubgb.com who will be co-ordinating the entries. Please state your 911 model and year plus membership number in your email.

The parade will take place around the Sunday lunchtime.

----------------------

I thought this worthy of mention since unlike previous years you will not be able to turn up on the day/gate and purchase a ticket. Advance sales only. Make the most of your membership and purchase your tickets now. Save money by using club codes as follows:- Go to: http://www.silverstoneclassic.com/tickets The two Porsche Club discount codes for members are C13216 and for those wanting to enter the Record Parade and lap the Silverstone Circuit in their car the code is C13911 - the site does explain this. Example of value using Early Bird booking is 3 day tickets buys you entry for just over £14 per day.
Further details on the event can be found at http://www.silverstoneclassic.com/ - Further updates at Club nights and in the Porsche Post.

All the best for 2013
