Spizz oil

Good ones (?) can be had in the region of £26,000. Immaculate ones (and one has just gone up for sale) fetch £29,000.

I know I know.....what is "good" etc etc..

STEVE

BTW - Spizz as in:- "Athletico Spizz 80?" ?

Steve,

Cool - yes - and in earlier incarnations Spizz Oil and Spizz Energy. I thought that I was the only one who remembered.

I picked up GT - Purely Porsche today, and there is a great article about buying Club Sports.

I used to have a regular '87 3.2 - and I remember looking in around '94 at a CS in AFN Chiswick. It was £24k - amazing how the prices have held up compared with the regular model.

Still love the purity of it. Must keep my eyes peeled. Where does one find the Register?

Spizz

Spizz - glad u liked the article... hoped you liked the car too !

Regarding the register, I can provide you with some datasheets about the register and the CS in general because that's what I do for PCGB. If you want some more info, then by all means mail me off forum

All the best

Steve

PS - Remember the slits ? Revillos ?? (Scuba-Scuba)

Q. Who sung "don't wanna play space invaders ?" - Starter for 10, no confering

1. Wow! Was it yours?
2. More a Rezillos than Revillos guy "I love my baby, coz she does good sculptures, yeh" I am guessing - was it the Adverts?
3. Remember Fascist Dictator by the Cortinas?

Rock and Porsches should go together.

Spizz.

PS Will mail you offline.

Hey Steve:

Still looking for that mag over here on this side of the pond! Can't wait to check out your CS!

A couple of UK cars were built with the optional rear seat squabs/backrests and seat belts. A couple more have been retro-fitted. Even these shouldn't hurt values as the original CS should have pre-dated the later, stricter, type approval regs. Also, some people, with kids, need the rear seats.

Weight difference between seats, belts and rear shelf would only be a few kilos, so performance wouldn't suffer.

Oliver is right, and looking at the register, I see few cars with such a 'spec. Purists might argue that it isn't a "real one" but I'd be a little more concerned about the size of the "CS" logo that adourns the bonnet - it's too big, although it might be a slip of the pixel from 911 & PW

The car though, is very clean.

Performance ??

I agree - it would suffer little.

Desirability ?
Well, it is rarer than the cooking CS, but this also means that the potential CS customer might be as rare when / if you sell on.

The special order interior on this car also refers to the interior colour which I believe is called "mahogany". I don't think I have seen this on another CS so it may be the only one of its kind.

There is also a very nice 3.2 CS for sale on www.wwclassics.com - only 30k miles from new with good history and Porsche logo interior which is a nice option. Price is also very fair at 27k - very tempting!

I think from the price you can see what the special order interior has done to the value. It's probably worth £2,500 - £3,000 less than a standard car.

Agree it may not help value - the Porsche logo cloth is probably the best option on a CS IMO. There is also a significant difference in mileage (30k vs 85k) which probably makes a bigger difference and also affects overall condition.

Wow Yoda - that one looks good.

Always wanted a CS. Question is - do I sell my 996 and trouser the difference? Is a CS a year round proposition - or one to pickle?

Spizz

The CS at Worldwide Classics looks like good value. You wouldn't buy such a nice CS to use everyday - but you could. Many are used for day to day transport and track days. Porsche Swindon look after a 1988, one owner, example that has covered c.400,000 miles. At 330,000 it had a precautionary engine overhaul and new clutch.

The trim you asked about has the PORSCHE script repeated across the cloth. Needs to be seen to be appreciated.

Spizz Oil

I think the 3.2 CS is quite a useable car and this example is very nice indeed. Car has been well looked after and the Porsche logo cloth is in a very dark navy blue. The Porsche writing is very subtle and the seats look they are trimmed in a nice cloth - when you look at them up close, you notice the script. I think it looks much better than the pinstripe cloth interior most cars came with. If you are interested in a CS it is worth a look.

Thanks guys.

Very helpful. My recollection was that the CS was not undersealed. Will that cause problems on salted roads?

Porsche script cloth looks good.

Spizz

CS were, obviously, galvanised and most UK cars had an ant-chip finish plus a light underseal. Only a handful of UK cars were not undersealed.

I am reasonably certain that the car at wwclassics has the mottled finish and underseal.
