Clunk, squeak, every trip!

My 2005 997 C2S has been mine since 2008. I have kept it OPC serviced and warrantied with no regrets. Apart from minor warranty issues nothing has really cropped up.

Understandably as she's getting a little long in the teeth (but still only just touched 40k miles) there are a few issues.

The current one is an annoyance rather than a problem. Rattles etc are very hard to describe but as these issues have foxed my OPC I thought I'd ask the collective brains of the club!

Somewhere just to the right in the front there is a deep clunk/rattle when going over pretty minor bumps. There is also a rubbing/squeaking noise behind the glovebox on the left. Both of these settle if the suspension is set to sport. My OPC have inspected on at least 3 occasions, replaced shocks and 'drop arms' (sorry for ignorance) without success. It has now been a problem for 18 months.

Any clues or guidance? Even if you tell me to live with it because it just happens.

Thanks All

Are you anywhere near CenterGravity? I would take it there to get Chris to check over the suspension - I suspect he knows a bit more, in detail, about the workings/problems than your local PC. You can get the geo set up properly at the same time![:)]

If your near Reading go to Northways and ask for Paul but try your local indie other wise.

Also sit in the passenger seat and get someone else to Drive, it gives you a better idea and chance of working out where it is....... and it wont be where you think it is. I had a sunroof rattle and it was actually a rear parcel shlef speaker!!!!
