clunking, creaking

Hi All
I have a 'clunking creaking noise' coming from the front end of my car, underneath the floor behind the wheels
It is clearly audible at low speed, 1st & 2nd gear as you pull away and again as you slow down or drive in stop-start traffic
Can anyone shed some light on what it could be?
I suspect suspension, or maybe track arm/drive shaft or something
Has anyone experinced a similar problem?
The car has done 60k miles
Cheers
Rich

Top mounts sit at the top of the spring, they have a bearing which transfers the weight.
The water ingresses and the rust up.
I was told a wear and tear- as is all suspension.

I also had an issue even after the mounts were done of a clanking, which was fixed by gear oil and grease on the spring at the top.. [:)]

hi all
this clucking creaking has now been diagnosed by my local specialist as a dodgy coughing arm
apparently though he cant get hold of one from porsche or his aftermarket suppliers as TRW who make them aren't producing them
does anyone know where I am likely to find one?
is the 'coughing' arm known as anything else as there are a lot of 'arms' in the suspension
i've looked on the Design 911 site and am not sure which part (if any) it could be

can anyone offer advice
cheers

Rich,

You'd be better looking at track control arms.

Something like this:

done a lot of searching, as has my porsche specialist and we cant find stock anywhere
no TRW ones or OEM ones (even though TRW make them) and no date for re-stocking
if anyone can help me source one I'd be grateful
cheers
