Clutch cable support

Has anyone boken this part before? Its the clutch cable support bracket which bolts onto the bottom of the transmision and holds the guide for the clutch cable (part no. 915.116.613.01) it snapped whilst I was adjusting the cable to ft a new clutch helper spring.
Every where I ring says they can order them but apparently they take an age (Bert says he has had them on back order for months) this leads me to think it must be a common problem, Porsche have told me they no longer make or stock the part, here or in Germany!!
It looks as though I may need to look at making something similar as I have some metal fabrication background although I would rather have the part, apparently they are only a tenner for a new one, if you can find one.

Any one with any suggestion??

Is it alloy? It should be Mig weldable with the right gas(pure argon for alloy I think???) and alloy wire if you can find a competent welder. If you have a Mig welder you can buy small SIP disposable cannisters of gas to do it yourself. The only other way would be to go to an OPC and get them to search around the dealer network for an old stock part if there is one left on the shelf somewhere.
When I had my car rebuilt at Roger Brays I needed a wiper rack urgently as it was holding up the job-my mint second hand one was an LHD!.He got onto the OPC at Exeter and I got the last RHD rack in stock at Stuttgart before a new batch is made.Just don't ask how much it cost!!

Nick,
Have a look at the Mittelmotor website and on-line catalogue. They are very efficient and used to speaking good technical English.

I'm pretty sure that I've got a new one kicking around. Yours for a tenner inc postage - let me know if you want it and I'll check to make sure.

Just three days later and I have a new part in my hand, quite possibly the last one in the country, or the WORLD!! Thanks again Jeremy, isnt the interweb a great thing...
