Clutch Change

Andy
I believe it can due to the different torque tube from the 944. Give Bert Gear
01271 866818 a call or someone like Jon Mitchell 01202 462951 .

Thanks for confirming this, I see from the parts manual that there is a removable section of the engine bell housing but not quite sure how the torque tube is removed, i assume the drive shaft will slide back into the gear box to allow the clutch assembly to be remove.

Can anyone provide a brief description of how the set up varies from the 944's, ie how the torque tube is handled, is it remove altogether.......
thanks in advance
andy

being a complete mechanical numpty i wouldnt presume to comment, except to say that in the words of my local indie "the clutch was one thing they really got right on the 968". Apparently clutch change is designed to be a doddle and is quite different to the 944 job. Hence my indie charges about 40% less for a 968 change vs 944

yes indeed, I changed the clutch on my old 944 S2 and it was a massive job, gearbox off, torque tube moved back, etc. etc.
On the 968 it's removal of the cover.
