The gearbox, clutch housing, engine are all bolted together.
I dont' know whether it is possible to do it without removing the whole lot. Even if it is, working from underneath will be hard without someway to lift the car a few feet of the ground, and working overhead is hard work.
You would need to undo the drive shafts to the rear wheels and the forward prop shft, to be able to get the gearbox off, then the clutch housing.
I believe it would be easier to take the whole lot out and do it on a bench. I think there are something like 22 bolts to get the engine out of the car (more than on the older models).
The engine + gearbox weighs around 200Kg I think, so you aren't going to pick it up with your bare hands.
You will need some sort of cobbeld together trolley with a jack (unless you use the Porsche item to lower it down on (and jack it back up with).
Separating the gearbox from the bell housing from the engine should be straight forward.
Replacing the cutch should be easy as well.
Aside from the awkwardness, I reckon it is not so hard, but will be pretty time consuming.
OPC charge around £1000 I think. So take off the VAT and allow £150 for the clutch, and its 700 quid, or about 8 hours labour if you have all the right tools and know what you are doing. So double/treble that for doing it yourself.
Two 10 hour days and you can do it in a weekend.
This is just my opinion, so I will bow to superior knowledge is someone has actually done it.
