Out and about in the car yesterday afternoon when, on the way home, I came to some lights and dipped the clutch - there was a strange feeling of movement at the pedal, but clutch still worked fine.
Investigating last night, there is a black metal bracket through which a bolt appears to hold the bracket, and thus the pedal, fixed to the bulkhead - this is moving slightly up and down when you apply pressure to the pedal.
Out with the socket set and upside down on my head in the footwell goes I to tighten up said offending nut and bolt - it appears to be tight, yet the bracket still moves up and down....[
