Clutch pedal grease??

Every year I take my drivers floor up behing the pedals and clean the piston on my clutch pedal as the rubber boot is split and suprisingly muck does get into there. I generally clean it with good old WD40 which makes the clutch nice and light for a short while.

I'm looking for suggestions on a possible lube to use which will have a lasting effect as once its cleaned and lubed the change in its action is quite surprising. Copper slip was a thought but I'm not sure about any adverse reactions.

Why not just replace the boot?

General purpose grease will do the trick. Copper slip is not great for pistons as it has abrasive particles in it.
