Clutch Pedal not Returning Properly

My clutch pedal has started not returning fully to the upright position. It used to do it occasionally, but now its all the time.

I know there is some adjustment with an Allen key under the brake pedal, but is there something else I should be looking out for before I start poking around. Also, where is the clutch fluid reservoir ? Anybody know - it's just too hot to go poking around the engine bay in this weather ...

PS I had a new clutch three years ago at 50,000 miles (she's now done 70,000).

more than likely the clutch slave cylinder...first step is bleeding it to see if that makes any difference.....then replacement....
i had this on a previous 993...for some reason it gets worse when hot....

check rennlist for a search, this is one of the more common 993 foibles.

Thanks - it's certainly hot enough around here. Sounds like a trip to my friendly local specialist may be in order.

I would check that it's not the piston behind the actual pedal first. P-car describe how this process is done, see link below.

I have tried greasing everything in sight as suggested by P-Car and already it is a lot better. Many thanks for that.

My specialist will have to wait this time ....

Seems like this is a common problem once the rubber piston sleeve has worn a hole, allowing dirt to enter.

It is a common problem. I am sure it can also be lack of use that is the cause. Mine returned to normal after a 1500 mile holiday trip and has been ok since !!
