Clutch Problem

Hi,
I've just noticed a problem with my clutch that started last night. When I depress the clutch pedal, there is no resistance untill half way down the travel of the pedal, then the bite kicks in further down. When I release the clutch, it returns to halfway, then flies back up to top. The car runs and drives as normal other than that.
Any ideas what is wrong?
Im praying it doesnt mean a whole new system, as im not exactly flush at the moment!

System is hydraulic, so check the fluid in the reservoir first. Also, the floor pan can distort if the car's jacked up in the wrong place. Although usually the accelerator that gets sticky it's possible if it coincides with new tyres or something.
