Clutch question

I have a 987.2 and never been that impressed with the clutch bite.
I don’t get any slip while driving no matter what gear or revs, however if I launch quickly from a junction its seems slow to fully engage, ive not tried but I doubt I could dump the clutch and spin the wheels. She only has 40k miles.
Is this simply a trait of the Boxster clutch, is there a clutch delay valve slowing the engagement ?

That doesn’t sound quite right to me Adam. Maybe you should bleed the clutch and see if that gives an improvement before investigating further? Depending upon use and driving style, 40k miles could mean that a clutch replacement is due.

Both my 987.2 have been PDK.

But I have driven a 2.7 987.1 and several 2.9 987.2 manuals for short runs and all the manuals were capable of making me look a complete idiot from a standstill. All of them would have happily smoked the tyres and put me into a lamp post if i had been foolish enough to try Would have needed to be “good revs“ for it to happen but would say there is something not right with your scenario.

does the car bog down and not rev or does it rev and nothing (except for a burnt bacon smell ) happen ?

I have a 987.2 6 speed manual, now clocking nearly 74K, owned it for 5 years, 34K when bought.

The bite is a 'soft' feel (pedal still 1/2 way up from the bottom) and I have never gunned it from a standing start, never felt the need to mainly because a new clutch is expensive!

The transmission is rock solid when the clutch is engaged, no slip in any gear, too high a gear/low speed and it will simply stall.

I also have a 1973 911, cable clutch and it feels the same!

Sharp clutches are a thing of the past?
