Clutch

Dropped my car off at the OPC yesterday with a notchy gear change / clutch slipping in second when i floor it.
I have done just under 26k miles, mainly motorway but a lot of London traffic driving too and a few track days.
So i'm assuming that it is fair usage and about time for a new one.
I think I read on here about 20 - 30k miles for a clutch depending on use.
I have been quoted £1048 + VAT for a new clutch kit.
Does that sound about right?

Thanks,
J.

Ask Parr or JZM, if anything they are more fun to talk to since you track your car, probably cheaper too. I have been doing some trackday and am at 20.000. Sounds like my turn is coming up!

Hi Jimberland , I'm reluctantly having clutch replaced at 29800 miles , symptoms are stiff gear change , sometimes hard to slot into 1st from standstill. Being done by OPC for same price you quoted. I did do 2 trackdays which probably hastened the process ,was not heeling & toeing like I should have done for the changedown from 4 to 3 to 2 ....

I had exactly the same symptoms.
The gear change now is excellent and the power transfer seems out of this world.
I can't believe it could have been slipping so much, it feels like I am being catapulted now when i change up at optimum revs.
I only heel and toe on the track, from what i understand it makes very little difference to clutch wear day to day driving otherwise the clutch wouldn't be fit for purpose and Porsche would be getting a lot of complaints. Someone on here might correct me on that though...
