Coil lead

Is it possible to buy the coil lead on its own?

The last owner replaced the leads with some split fire things but the coil lead doesn't fit the coil and im sure its breaking down at times under load. I can hear it arcing and the car starts to miss and hold back occasionally at high revs and also the other day it started to pop and miss badly. I fiddled with the lead and it seemed to cure it.

All i can find is full sets of leads and il be buggered if im forking out for a full set when all i need is the coil lead.

Cheers,
Stu

If you tell him the length and the car he should be able to make it up for you.

They used to make Leads for a number of racing teams and are very good and were not expensive.

Erm, I may be wrong but I think the lead from the coil to the centre of the dizzy (on an S2, at least) is a common size - same as VW's of the same era.

I think you may well find a lead to fit that quite easily. (In fact, I think I have a spare one in my toolbox which I could post, if that helps.)

Hi Oli.

Its not the size that's the problem but the end that clips into the coil. On the original it has an extended bit that slots down into the coil, the after market one i have does not have this so it doesn't slot all the way into the coil.

I appreciate the offer mate and il take you up on it. Il email you my address etc.

Cheers,
Stu

Stu,

Offer is there IF I can find it in my toolbox!

Let me have a rummage (oo-er missis!) and let you know. If it's found, it's yours.
