Coil reading question

Had a quick look with the meter today at my starting issues. Getting 11.7vdc to the injectors all looking ok one of the clips is gone will do a flow check tomorrow, but the coil secondary check is out of range should read somewhere between 5kohms and 7.2kohms but have no reading at all, the primary reading is spot on 5ohms.
Does that mean my coil is duffers?
I had planned to get a new coil and injectors but could of done with this next month.

Yep sorry that would help wouldn't it[8|] yeh no reading open circuit on the 5kohms scale and 50kohms suggests greater than 50kohms.

Always worth spending the money on ignition stuff anyway mate. Especially on cars of our age. Never underestimate the benefit of good spark. You might want to think about replacing the leads and also the dizzy and rotor arm if you can afford it mate.

Done the dizzy cap and HT leads as well as the fuel filter, oil filter, spark pugs and air filter. Will look for the rotor arm was a bugger to change the Dizzy cap stupid bottom screw, should of done it then.

Yes the dizzy cap is a proper c**t. I prefer to just remove the whole cover. 3 x 10mm bolts and much easier. Cant remember if you need to take the whole of the top cambelt cover to do that. Actually I think you can squeeze it out without removing it [:)]
