Our Cayenne "S" 06 MY (75K) has had coils replaced on it a few times, symptoms include juddering and hesitant tickover at random, whenever the coils get replaced its always in ones and twos, the car has just started to hesitate and judder randomly again,my point is i reckon all the coils should be replaced at the same time otherwise you always have one that is getting old and about to kick up,anyone else have this or is it just me?

I had the same problem where 1 or 2 needed replacing. About 4000 miles ago I said sod it and replaced the lot at circa £500.

Touch wood its been fine since then.

If the problem reoccured I would just replace all of them again for as you state you dont know at what point of degredation they are.

Yes, common problem. Had all replaced on my '04 KNS which solved the problem, but that was under warranty.
Worryingly, seeing your mileage, my '07 KNS is now over 50k and probably due some coil packs. Wondering if the extended warranty will cover them when the time comes (warranty check just been done).

I would suggest replacing them all at the same time. The coils shouldn't be that expensive and they get very hot and brake down very easily. All Porsche modals are common for coils braking up and Porsche have brought out a new coil for the newer models to try and correct the problem.

My coils have all been replaced on Porsche extended warranty, thats why they only replace ones that are duff at that moment in time..wish that wasn't the case..

I suppose it is a difficult position as they can only replace parts that are faulty at that minute,if they replaced bits preventatively it would cost them$$[8|]
